Dr. Sara Orel (Art History) put out a call on Facebook recently for information on what Art History alumni were up to. We were overwhelmed not only by the wonderful response but also all the great things that our alums are doing. So, this summer the blog will feature updates on all that great stuff! The most recent post appears below:
Leslie Contarini at Palazzo Barbaro in Venice, during Save Venice's Summertime Gala 2012 fundraising event.
Leslie writes:
"After Truman I completed my MA in Art History at the University of Warwick in the UK. I moved to Venice, Italy in 2006 and have been working at Save Venice Inc. ever since. Save Venice Inc. is an American non-profit organization that is dedicated to the restoration and preservation of the art and architecture of Venice.
As program coordinator at Save Venice, I follow everything from our educational programs including our international internship program, to our publications and website, and our community and donor outreach efforts ranging from lectures and tours to major fundraising events. My favorite part of my job is helping to coordinate the restoration efforts of incredible works of art including masterpieces by Titian, Tintoretto, and Veronese.
While at Truman in addition to art history I also studied political science and Italian language and culture, all invaluable subjects that I use in my job each day."
Congratulations, Leslie!
