2015-2016 Truman Theatre Season

The 2015-2016 Truman Theatre season opens this Wednesday, Sept. 30, with Crimes of the Heart, by Beth Henley. The show runs Wednesday through Saturday nights at 8 p.m. in the James G. Severns Theatre of Ophelia Parrish Hall. Tickets are $3. The Box Office is open weekdays from 11:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. and at 7 p.m. on performance nights. For more information, call (660) 785-4515.

Call for Designers!!

If you’re interested in the possibility of designing lights, scenery, or costumes for one of the 4 MainStage shows in the 2015-2016 theatre season, please submit application materials to Dr. Dana Smith’s office by 5 p.m. on Monday, 3/2/15. Those materials should include: 1) a letter of interest, describing which production slot you’d like to design for, your strengths as a designer, as well as your thoughts about the design process, and how this experience will serve your career, 2) a statement declaring that you are in good standing with the university and not on academic probation, 3) a list of courses you plan to take in the fall, 4) a digital portfolio of any previous work you’ve done, and 5) a resume.

Audition details for SHE KILLS MONSTERS

SHE KILLS MONSTERS by Qui Nguyen is a comedy that takes place in two worlds: the world of Dungeons and Dragons, and the world of the 1990s. The show features stage combat, hip hop dance, cheer moves, and much much more. Auditions will take place on Sunday, February 8th, and will consist of two components. The first is a fight/dance call from 12-2 PM in Kirk Gym. The second is a monologue and random skill demonstration, which will take place in the Severns Theatre. Each individual should sign up for a 5 minute time slot; sign-up sheets are posted on the Theatre call board in OP.
