BLOOD WEDDING Auditions – September 29
BLOOD WEDDING by Federico Garcia Lorca
10 Women, 9 Men (with doubling)
Where: the James G. Severns Theatre
When: Sunday, September 29th, at 3 p.m.
What: please prepare a monologue of no more than 1 ½ to 2 minutes in length, written in heightened language (Chekhov, Eliot, Williams, etc.). You may perform a poem if you wish—just treat the poem as a monologue, so that you’re playing a character who has an objective, and who is fighting for something.
Callbacks: Monday 9/30 at 6:30 p.m. in the Severns—wear clothes for movement. You will also be asked to sing a bit.
Please note: there are plenty of non-singing and non-dancing roles!
Click on BloodWeddingAuditions for more information on the characters.
General Theatre Meeting – August 22

Auditions for BEDROOM FARCE – August 25
BEDROOM FARCE by Alan Ayckbourn
Performance Dates: September 25 – 28
James G. Severns Theatre, 8:00pm, Free Admission
Cast Includes: 4 Male, 4 Female
Audition Information: Auditions will be Sunday, August 25 from 6-10 PM in the Severns Theatre.
Sign ups will be posted by the scene shop by the first day of classes. If you do not sign up, you are still welcome to audition; the signups simply allow us to prepare more in advance to help auditions run quickly.
Auditioners will be given sides and split into pairs when they arrive at auditions. They will be given some time to prepare with their partner and then will perform their scene. Please be prepared to stay for the whole audition time, but you may be dismissed early.
If callbacks are needed they will be held Monday, August 26 beginning at 7:00 PM. A decision about callbacks will be made following Sunday’s auditions and will be distributed via Facebook message to group members and emailed to everyone who auditions.
**Please note that being dismissed early in the night from auditions or not receiving a callback does not mean that you are not being considered for a part**
Faculty awarded grant to mentor students in the creation of a new musical
As part of the Summer Research Community, Dr. Charles Gran (Music) and Prof. David Charles Goyette (Theater) have been awarded an Interdisciplinary Research Community Grant. This summer, they will be mentoring students Shelley Washington (composer, Music) and Joshua Reinhardt (bookwriter, Theater/Creative Writing) in the creation of a new musical. The students were selected in a competitive process, and have been awarded $2,500 each in support of their work. The intensive 8-week program will result in a completed book (the play) and score ready for a performance at a later date.
