For the Fall Directors’ Showcase Dec. 7-9, theatre majors are directing one-act plays as part of the Play Direction class. On each night of the showcase in the James G. Severns Theater, the directing class will present a different set of one-act plays written by some of the best playwrights from around the country. These productions represent a synthesis of numerous concepts explored in the course of the semester, including exploration of composition and picturization techniques, scene analysis, how to develop a directorial approach and methods on how to work with actors.
Each play is entirely student-run. Each night’s production is free and open to the public and no tickets are needed.
