Stage Manager Applications for 2013-14

STAGE MANAGERS–if you want to stage manage one of the shows in the 2013-2014 Truman Theatre Season, you need to submit a letter of application no later than Thursday, March 28th at 5 p.m.  You may compose only one letter, but please submit a copy of the letter to each director you’re hoping to work with.  Show #1 will be a contemporary comedy directed by Randy Bame.  Show #2 will be a Modern classic (something that could be from Hist-Lit 3), directed by Dana Smith.  Show #3 will be a classic play (History-Lit 2-ish) directed by David Charles Goyette, and Show #4 will be a contemporary musical directed by Dana Smith.

Your letter of application should:

* Address your experience in stage management;

* Discuss your unique approach to the job, including a philosophical statement about what a good stage manager should do and be;

* Indicate which shows you’re hoping to work on, ranked in ascending order with top choice as #1, second choice as #2, etc.

* Include a statement regarding your ability to maintain good standing at the university (keep grades up–you must be in good standing already in order to be eligible for SM positions)

* Include a list of courses that you are planning on taking in the fall, including credit hours of each.

We look forward to hearing from you!  If you have any questions, please contact Dr. Smith at dasmith@truman.edu.
