{"id":1783,"date":"2022-02-25T04:49:57","date_gmt":"2022-02-25T10:49:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.truman.edu\/presoffice\/?p=1783"},"modified":"2022-03-04T10:06:33","modified_gmt":"2022-03-04T16:06:33","slug":"covid-19-update-mask-policy-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.truman.edu\/presoffice\/2022\/02\/25\/covid-19-update-mask-policy-update\/","title":{"rendered":"Mask Policy Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Mask Policy Update<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This afternoon (February 25), the CDC released new mask guidance based upon COVID-19 Community Levels.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/your-health\/covid-by-county.html\">Under this new guidance, the Adair County COVID-19 Community Level is classified as \u201clow.\u201d<\/a> \u00a0For counties with low community levels, there is no recommendation to wear a mask unless a person has symptoms, a positive test, or exposure to someone with COVID-19.\u00a0 Effective at 5:00 p.m., February 25, masks will no longer be required on campus.<\/p>\n<p>Those who prefer to wear masks should continue to do so. \u00a0Individuals may require others to wear masks in their personal office or workspace but must provide masks if needed.<\/p>\n<p>The University will continue its current contact tracing program and will adhere to CDC guidelines regarding quarantine and isolation procedures.<\/p>\n<p>Decisions regarding the mask policy are made by the President in consultation with the Executive Leadership Team. \u00a0faFactors taken into consideration include, but are not limited to: the number of active cases related to the University; the transmission rate in Adair County; the campus vaccination rate; Truman\u2019s capacity to effectively accommodate students in isolation and quarantine; guidance of the CDC and the local health department; and the advice of Faculty Senate, Staff Council, and Student Government.<\/p>\n<p>As has been the case since the beginning of the pandemic, the University will maintain a flexible approach to COVID-19 prevention and make decisions based on all relevant information available.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mask Policy Update This afternoon (February 25), the CDC released new mask guidance based upon COVID-19 Community Levels.\u00a0 Under this new guidance, the Adair County COVID-19 Community Level is classified as \u201clow.\u201d \u00a0For counties with low community levels, there is no recommendation to wear a mask unless a person has symptoms, a positive test, or [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":268,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-1783","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-uncategorized"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.2 -
