The\u00a0COVID-19 pandemic remains rapidly evolving and as such, to best safeguard the health and safety of the Truman and northeast Missouri communities, we are continuing to make decisions as warranted\u00a0following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO), along with state and county health departments. \u00a0<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
These steps are being taken to help mitigate and slow the spread of COVID-19 and to help protect the Truman and northeast\u00a0Missouri communities.<\/p>\n
Effective immediately, all university-related, non-essential international and domestic travel is suspended until further notice, including previously approved travel. \u00a0This includes travel connected to University activities or programs for all faculty, staff and students, whether that travel is funded by the University, an external grant, or any other source. \u00a0Requests to engage in essential travel must be approved by the appropriate member of the President\u2019s Executive Leadership Team. \u00a0For example, all academic-related faculty, staff and student travel must be approved by the Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost;\u00a0student affairs staff and all non-academic student travel must be approved by the Vice President for Student Affairs;\u00a0etc.<\/p>\n
In addition, Truman State University is cancelling all study abroad programs for the May Interim and Summer 2020 semester. \u00a0Faculty and students involved in May Interim and Summer 2020 study abroad programs can expect to hear from the Center for International Education Abroad with more specific information regarding the cancellation of these programs. \u00a0We are also calling all of our semester study abroad students home.<\/p>\n
