The purpose of this conference is to provide a<br \/>\nforum for the presentation of philosophical work of undergraduates to<br \/>\ntheir peers. Papers are required to be of philosophical content, but<br \/>\nthere are no specific restrictions on subject matter within the arena<br \/>\nof philosophical discussion itself. Papers should be approximately<br \/>\n3000 words (10-12 pages). Electronic submissions, including paper and<br \/>\nabstract (Word documents), should be sent to: <a title=\"Boersema mail link\" href=\"mailto:boersema@pacificu.edu\">boersema@pacificu.edu<\/a><br \/>\nSubmission deadline is February 1, 2013. Final decisions will be made<br \/>\nby February 28, 2013. Volunteers for session chairs are also welcome.<br \/>\nSelected papers from the conference will be published in Volume 4<br \/>\n(2013) of the journal Res Cogitans<br \/>\n&lt;<a title=\"journal link\" href=\"http:\/\/commons.pacificu.edu\/rescogitans\">http:\/\/commons.pacificu.edu\/rescogitans<\/a>&gt; .<\/p>\n<p>This is strictly an undergraduate conference, with only undergraduates<br \/>\nallowed on the conference program. The single exception is the keynote<br \/>\nspeaker. Past keynotes speakers have included: Paul Churchland, Hilary<br \/>\nPutnam, John Searle, Keith Lehrer, Catherine Elgin, John Perry, Hubert<br \/>\nDreyfus, Jerry Fodor, Alvin Plantinga, Cora Diamond, and James Sterba.<br \/>\nThis year\u2019s keynote talk will be by Peter Kivy (Rutgers University).<\/p>\n<p>The conference schedule will be as follows:<br \/>\nFriday, April 19:<br \/>\nConference banquet 6:00-7:30pm<\/p>\n<p>Saturday, April 20:<br \/>\nBreakfast 7:00-8:00am;<br \/>\nPaper sessions 8:00-11:15;<br \/>\nKeynote talk 11:30-1:00;<br \/>\nConference luncheon 1:00-2:15;<br \/>\nPaper sessions 2:15-6:15.<\/p>\n<p>Travel and lodging information can be found by on the conference web site at:<br \/>\n<a title=\"conference website\" href=\"http:\/\/www.pacificu.edu\/as\/philosophy\/conference\/index.cfm\">http:\/\/www.pacificu.edu\/as\/philosophy\/conference\/index.cfm<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Registration costs: $40, payable at the conference.
