Dear Campus Community:<\/p>\n

As you are probably aware, the CDC modified its mask\u00a0guidance on May 13, 2021 and updated it on May 16, 2021:\u00a0\u00a0https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/vaccines\/fully-vaccinated.html<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0It is important to note that this new guidance\u00a0eases masking requirements\u00a0for\u00a0fully vaccinated<\/em>\u00a0people.<\/p>\n

In\u00a0anticipation of changing guidance that was expected to be released in mid-summer,\u00a0Truman began developing a process to verify the vaccination status of all members of our campus to inform any changes to our existing COVID protocols, including the mask mandate.\u00a0 As the new CDC guidance was released much sooner\u00a0than public\u00a0health experts expected, our campus process is not yet complete.<\/p>\n

Consistent with keeping campus safety as a\u00a0primary focus, our existing University COVID protocols, including the mask mandate for all buildings on campus, will remain in\u00a0place until\u00a0we establish a\u00a0vaccination\u00a0verification process.\u00a0\u00a0Masks are not\u00a0required to be worn outdoors on campus.<\/p>\n

We are working to establish the vaccination verification\u00a0process as soon as possible.\u00a0Look for updates and specific details in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, we\u00a0ask for\u00a0your patience and understanding\u00a0as we implement this transition.<\/p>\n
