This email is about an internship opportunity in insurance.  Actuarial support work can include working in pricing, claims, underwriting and risk evaluation.  Working on internships or jobs in these areas can be helpful in later getting employment in Actuarial Science, or in Insurance in general and would not require a passed Actuarial Exam.

This invitation comes from a Truman grad who works in the Fleet Auto department at National Indemnity and underwrites large accounts with 10 or more power units (trucks, semi-trucks, sedans, etc.).  They see all types of risks ranging from your average trucking entity using tractor-trailers to a non-emergency medical risk using wheelchair vans.  Their interns build basic insurance skills by rating up these risks in our rating software, analyzing the loss runs, and getting a broader understanding of commercial auto insurance with our summer training.  They have internship opportunities year-round and are willing to let students work remotely during the school year as long as they can work at least 20 hours a week.
