National Security Seminar

April 15, 2011

Are you curious about national security here and abroad? Want to learn more about the role international institutions and organizations play in the evolving global order? Or how modern weaponry and technological advancements affect the future of war and policy? Perhaps your interests lie in the role social networking and Web 2.0 technologies play in national security and the tools the government is using and developing to combat terrorism.

If you find yourself wanting to know more about these topics and how they might relate to your career goals, you should consider attending The Washington Center’s “Top Secret: Challenges to National Security in a Global Society” academic seminar, which is taking place May 15-21, 2011.

Through TWC’s partnership with the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), seminar participants will explore the evolving international security landscape and the inner workings of the U.S. national security effort. With issues such as counterterrorism, cybercrime, weapons of mass destruction, chemical and biological warfare and the like at the forefront of today’s headlines, there is a need to educate those aspiring to a career in the STEM fields about the roles these areas have in national security. It is the intention of the seminar to explore the role of government decision making and its policy implications that require expertise in these fields. Top Secret will also allow you to meet and engage with nationally and internationally recognized public officials and business professionals, journalists and political analysts. And you will be able to stay in TWC apartment housing, which is included in the price!

The application deadline has been extended to April 25, 2011! Please visit www.twc.edu/topsecret for more information. If you have any questions about TWC seminars, please do not hesitate to contact us.
