{"id":929,"date":"2022-04-28T16:35:42","date_gmt":"2022-04-28T21:35:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.truman.edu\/cml\/?p=929"},"modified":"2022-04-28T16:35:42","modified_gmt":"2022-04-28T21:35:42","slug":"zyanya-hernandez-wins-prestigious-award-from-the-spanish-government","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.truman.edu\/cml\/2022\/04\/28\/zyanya-hernandez-wins-prestigious-award-from-the-spanish-government\/","title":{"rendered":"Zyanya Hern\u00e1ndez wins prestigious award from the Spanish Government."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Congratulations to recent CML graduate (BA Spanish and French \u201920) and MAE-FL Instruction (\u201921) <\/strong><strong>Zyanya Hern\u00e1ndez <\/strong><strong>for being chosen to teach in Spain next year!!!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Zyanya writes, \u201cI am honored to be a part of the <strong>NALCAP\u00a0Auxiliaries program for the 2022-2023 Spanish School Year in Andaluc\u00eda, Spain<\/strong>. I will be serving as an English Teacher Assistant in a Spanish classroom and share my cultural\u00a0perspective to\u00a0Spanish students. I am excited to participate in an intercultural experience where I can\u00a0make life-long connections and\u00a0further\u00a0explore the Spanish\u00a0culture and language. I am especially looking forward to gathering educational experiences and teaching skills that I can bring to the American education system upon my return.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>During her time at Truman, Zyanya served as a <strong>GTRA<\/strong> for Mrs. Harding and a Spanish and French <strong>tutor<\/strong>, as well as a <strong>Spanish Teaching Assistant<\/strong> for the CML Department. She was also the President of <strong><em>Sigma Delta Pi<\/em> <\/strong>and won the <strong>Gabriela Mistral Award<\/strong> for her work with the national honor society.
