The cultural immersion started with a stop for churros and chocolate, an emblematic Spanish treat. After a panoramic tour of historic Madrid, including the Gran V\u00eda, Palacio Real, Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol, and Plaza de la Cibeles, they experienced the Museo del Jam\u00f3n, famous for its Spanish cuisine, especially jam\u00f3n ib\u00e9rico. The next day was just as full, beginning with a guided visit to the Palacio Real, followed by a walking tour through the oldest parts of Madrid, stopping at the Museo del Prado, to view priceless works of art, including numerous paintings by Vel\u00e1zquez and Goya, two of Spain\u2019s most famous artists. The final stop in Madrid was to see Picasso\u2019s master work <i>Guernica<\/i>, housed at the Centro Reina Sof\u00eda. The next destination was Toledo, where the group toured the narrow streets of this medieval city perched above the R\u00edo Tajo, stopping to view El Greco\u2019s <i>Burial of the Conde Orgaz<\/i> as well as its beautiful cathedral.
