New Italian Textbook Ready for Fall Semester

Dr. Carlo Annelli has completed a new textbook for students of Italian at the introductory level. Figurati! An Economical Approach to Elementary Italian will be used in both Italian 101 in the Fall semester and Italian 102 in the Spring. It consists of twelve chapters and two appendices spanning a total of 179 pages. Dr. Annelli has designed the textbook to be as accessible as possible with chapters and sections carefully integrated into the book’s graduated structure. To help alleviate the growing financial burden of course materials, the textbook will be provided digitally to enrolled students for free. The project has come to fruition thanks to a $500 course redesign grant from the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Antonio Scuderi provided essential feedback throughout the process. The Italian faculty are confident that the new approach to the first year of language instruction will help facilitate students’ success.
