German Honorary Society holds Weihnachtsmarkt (Christmas market)

On December 11/26-11/30, Truman’s chapter of Delta Phi Alpha, the German National Honor Society, held a Weihnachtsmarkt on campus.  As in the actual Weihnachtsmärkte Christmas markets throughout Germany, an assortment of handmade goods were created and sold by the organization, including ornaments and candles.  Members also researched authentic German recipes for various pastries, such as Pfeffernüsse and Nussecken, and then baked them together. The market was such a success that members plan to make it an annual event so that all can enjoy a “Frohe Weihnachten!”
