Pi-Delta-Phi wins the France on Campus Award

Truman’s chapter of Pi-Delta-Phi (PDP), the French Honors Society, has recently been awarded the “France on Campus Award.” This award is sponsored by the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in the United States. PDP is one of ten selected winners of the contest and by winning they will gain the following support and recognition;

  • Mentorship support to develop the project from the following organizations.
    • A GoFundMe representative will advise you in setting your fundraising goals and strategies to ensure the success of your fundraising campaign.
    • A Cultural Attaché from the Consulate General of France in your region will support you in implementing your project.
  • Promotional and networking support from the Cultural Services during project development and implementation phases.
  • An Award certificate signed by the Ambassador of France to the United States following the completion of the project.
  • Invitations to selected events organized by the French Embassy and/or consulates for one year.

PDP’s plan is to implement a week of activities to celebrate the French Language. They plan to hold a short-film contest, a photography contest, a movie night, and a  French food night. They will also welcome a guest speaker to the campus for a lecture on “French in North America.” This week of French activities will be held in late February and early March of 2019
