{"id":295,"date":"2009-08-23T10:28:00","date_gmt":"2009-08-23T10:28:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.truman.edu\/art\/2009\/08\/23\/student-and-alumni-accomplishements\/"},"modified":"2009-08-23T10:28:00","modified_gmt":"2009-08-23T10:28:00","slug":"student-and-alumni-accomplishements","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.truman.edu\/art\/2009\/08\/23\/student-and-alumni-accomplishements\/","title":{"rendered":"Student and Alumni Accomplishments"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul style=\"font-family: inherit\">\n<li style=\"font-family: inherit\"><span style=\"font-size: 12px;font-family: Trebuchet MS\"><strong>Kelsey Wiskirchen<\/strong> received an assistantship\/scholarship to attend University of Arizona (Fibers MFA).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong>Allison Meadows<\/strong> continues her work in Art History and Anthropology at Oxford University in the UK.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Katharyn Reed <\/strong>is now serving in the Peace Corps teaching art at the School for the Deaf in Ghana.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dr. John Garton<\/strong> finished his first year as professor of Art History at Clark University in Massachusetts.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dr. Mike Murawski <\/strong>is employed as School Services Director at the St. Louis Art Museum.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Valarie Lazalier<\/strong> and R<strong>uby Jenkins <\/strong>are returning from study abroad in Italy and <strong>Sam Lyons<\/strong> from study abroad in France.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Megan Dowdy<\/strong> received multiple awards including <em>Best of Show<\/em> at the <em>5th Annual Design Conference<\/em> in Dallas, Texas. <\/li>\n<li><strong>Victoria Weaver&#039;s<\/strong> illustration work was also accepted <em>5th Annual Design Conference.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong>Megan Dowdy <\/strong>and <strong>Victoria Weaver&#039;s <\/strong>design and illustration work were accepted and published in <em>Creative Quarterly 15 <\/em>Magazine.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Rosemary Melton<\/strong> received an internship to work at <em>Firecracker Press <\/em>running letterpress and screenprinting.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Galen Gibson-Cornel<\/strong>l received a research grant to study lithography.<\/li>\n<li><strong>James Lang <\/strong>(BFA Painting &#8211; 2009)is pursuing a law degree.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Alex Merchant<\/strong> (BFA Painting) accepted a position with Residential Life at University of Arizona.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Heather Macionus<\/strong> (BFA Painting &#8211; 2007) is the studio manager for <em>Swoon<\/em>, a street artist turned renouned installation artist.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dusty Folwarczny <\/strong>has a sculpture piece in the 2009 Lakefront Sculpture Exhibit in Chicago<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kelsey Wiskirchen received an assistantship\/scholarship to attend University of Arizona (Fibers MFA).
