{"id":156,"date":"2012-04-13T12:19:00","date_gmt":"2012-04-13T12:19:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.truman.edu\/art\/2012\/04\/13\/international-speaker-to-address-collecting-of-egyptian-art\/"},"modified":"2012-04-13T12:19:00","modified_gmt":"2012-04-13T12:19:00","slug":"international-speaker-to-address-collecting-of-egyptian-art","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.truman.edu\/art\/2012\/04\/13\/international-speaker-to-address-collecting-of-egyptian-art\/","title":{"rendered":"International speaker to address collecting of Egyptian art"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a class=\"asset-img-link\" href=\"http:\/\/concept.typepad.com\/.a\/6a010536573dde970b016303fced7b970d-pi\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Mus Bristol Institut#34ECA7\" border=\"0\" class=\"asset  asset-image at-xid-6a010536573dde970b016303fced7b970d image-full\" src=\"http:\/\/concept.typepad.com\/.a\/6a010536573dde970b016303fced7b970d-800wi\" title=\"Mus Bristol Institut#34ECA7\" \/><\/a><br \/>On Wednesday, April 18<sup>th<\/sup>, we have a visiting speaker who will talk about Egyptian Archaeology and Museum Studies.&#160; <strong>Dr. Aidan Dodson<\/strong>, Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Archaeology &amp; Anthropology at the University of Bristol (United Kingdom) and Chair of the Board of Trustees for the Egypt Exploration Society (London), received his B.A. from the University of Liverpool, and his M.Phil. and Ph.D. from Cambridge University.&#160; Dr. Dodson was elected a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of London in 2003, is the author of some fifteen books, of which eight are in the Truman library.&#160; His latest book is <em>Afterglow: Egypt from the end of the New Kingdom to the Saite Renaissance<\/em>, due to be published by American University in Cairo Press in the spring of 2012.
