Fibers Students Creating Knotless Netting with Plastic Bags<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Students in Fibers 1 have been exploring recycling materials
\ninto basketry forms.  Last week they
\nlearned how to do plaiting with newspaper, and this week are doing a knotless
\nnetting technique with plastic bags that have been turned into \u201cplarn\u201d.  <\/p>\n

After learning four traditional basketry techniques of
\nplaiting, netting, coiling, and twining, each student will create a sculptural
\nproject that utilizes one of these techniques.
