Students Win Honors at NATS Competition

This past weekend, October 28-29, 2017 eight students represented Truman at the National Association of Teachers of Singing Regional Auditions held at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Il.  Participants were Cady Thomas, Marissa Elliott, Emily Heyl, Brienna Long, Allison Holloway, Noah Rogers, and Rachel Buttram.  Six students made semi-finals, and three won honors.  Allison Holloway received Honorable Mention in Sophomore Women, Emily Heyl won second place in Upper College Women, and Cady Thomas took first place in the same category.  Winners will now have the opportunity to audition at the National NATS Auditions that will be held in Las Vegas.  The students were accompanied by Rachel AuBuchon, a Truman alumna and collaborative staff pianist.  Also participating in the trip were Dr. Jacqueline Collett, and Dr. Jeffrey Seppala.  Congratulations to all!
