Teri FordSenior Justice Systems major Teri Ford presented, “Gun Buy-Backs: A Proposed New Strategy,” (mentor: Dr. Curtis Blakely) at the 18th Annual McNair Heartland Research Conference in Kansas City, Mo., on September 19-21.

McNair Scholars have conducted independent research, have been mentored by faculty, and plan to attend graduate school to earn a doctoral degree. Nationally, 57% of McNair Scholars immediately matriculate into graduate programs after earning a bachelor’s degree. The purpose of the McNair Program is to increase the attainment of Ph.D. degrees by students from underrepresented segments of society.
