Communication professors present paper at national media conference

October 30, 2013

Professor Don Krause and Dr. Mark Smith shared the findings of a critical media study with members of the College Media Association in late October.  The two communication faculty co-authored a study of how police used Twitter in the aftermath of the bombings at the annual Boston Marathon in 2013.  The study closely examined how Boston Police tweets gradually shaped the “hero’s journey” of law enforcement during a massive effort to apprehend two suspects.  The fall conference of CMA was held in New Orleans.
