Amy Norgard (Associate Professor of Classics) recently published a chapter entitled “Bloody Brides: Helen, Iphigenia, and Ritual Exchange” in the edited volume “Screening Love and War in Troy: Fall of a City,” published with Bloomsbury Press. Dr. Norgard’s chapter blends Classical studies and film studies methods to analyze the characters Helen and Iphigenia as representing two different pathways for ancient women through young adulthood and marriage within the BBC/Netflix series Troy: Fall of a City (2018). The book features a forward written by Derek Wax, producer of Troy: Fall of a City.
