Tournées Film Festival grant awarded to CML!

September 11, 2018

The CML department has recently been awarded a grant from the Tournées Film Festival, which is an artistic fund supported by the FACE foundation (French-American Cultural Exchange.) This program aims to bring French cinema to American colleges and university campuses and provides nearly $200,000 in grants each year to support festival endeavors. The grant will be used to help fund the International Film Festival presented in Spring of 2019.

The six films selected (I am not your negro, Bande de filles, Félicité, 120 BPM, Qu’Allah bénisse la France, and Petit à petit) fit into our International Film Festival which hopes to celebrate our immigrant communities in Kirksville and to bring the experience of cultural diversity to Truman Students. With the help of this grant our ambition is to use films to bring the student population and immigrant community together in hopes of finding understanding and friendship.
