CoDA Diaper Drive Project Big Success

CoDA Diaper Drive Project Big Success

November 20, 2016

The Communication Disorders Association [CoDA] [CMDS Student Organization] participated in the first Diaper Drive [for the 2016-2017 academic year] from October 17th to October 27th.  Members of CoDA collected diapers [all sizes] and wipes for Kirksville families who are under financial strain. The diaper donations were dropped off at the Truman Speech and Hearing Clinic lobby, and at awareness tabling stations on the Quad, in the Student Union Building, and McClain Hall.  On October 28th, families in need came to the Salvation Army to receive diapers as well as information on emergent literacy.  The organization also presented educational information to parents on the developmental milestones of their children.  The Diaper Drive was a huge success, helping 39 families! CoDA hopes to host a total of four Diaper Drives during the 2016-2017 academic year.
