May 16, 2017

Ope Amosu is a Corporate Account Executive at GE, responsible for developing mutually-viable relationships between GE and each of the independent North American oil and gas operators. In conjunction, he leads the company’s Oilfield Produced Water Treatment initiative.

Ope is a 2010 graduate of Truman State University, earning a BA in Marketing. In 2014, he went on to earn his MBA from Rice University’s Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Business, with a concentration in Energy and Entrepreneurship.

While at Truman, along with being a member of the Bulldog Varsity Football team, Ope was active in Alpha Kappa Psi Professional Business Fraternity, the American Marketing Association, and the National Association of Black Accountants, serving in various leadership positions. Ope also served as Chapter President for Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and spent time as a student mentor for first year students, through the university’s Multicultural Affairs Center.

Upon graduating from Truman, Ope began his professional career as an Account Manager at Grimco, Inc., where he was ultimately recognized as a “Top Regional Sales Employee” for his commercial and operational accomplishments. Ope later transitioned into the oil and gas industry, serving in various commercial strategy roles for Cameron and Sagittarius Oil & Gas.

In 2014, Ope joined GE, through the company’s Experienced Commercial Leadership Program. He has since led global upstream oil and gas projects in North America, Latin America, and the Middle East for the organization.

Ope is a native of Houston, Texas, where he currently resides with his lovely wife, Janelle Amosu, who is also a Truman alumna.  Over the years, the two of them have remained active in their communities, often volunteering at the Astra Zeneca Hope Lodge and the United Way of Bucks County.
