Letters become words, words in turn formulate ideas.

    The goal of this visual expression in motion is to develop and produce a 

    two 30 second quicktime movie flash based video using the power of 

    letterforms to describe a narrative event or promotion.

 

Things to think about:

• legibility and readability

• context mood and drama

• story telling verbally and visually

• instill a feeling

• pace and rhythm

• time and timing

• voice and texture of type- shape size and color, position, 

placement

• reveal and project meaning

• beginning and end

• memory, confession, joke. etc.

process

    • look at advertisements on television

    • develop a storyboard that utilizes type to show, and describe 

       what the piece is going to be.

    • begin to develop the material that you need to complete this work:

                    develop type and find audio that you want to utilize

11/12    • introduction to problem/in class work

11/19    • warmup exercise due 15 seconds

11/21    • 15 seconds done 1st promotion

        11/26-28   BREAK

12/03    •1st promotion done

        12/05    • 15-20 seconds due on the 2nd Promotion

12/10 • final project due 11:30am

                                            Turn in swf and quicktime files.

    >1 image can be used, 1 graphic

    >stage size 1024 x 768 px(iPad), frame rate is 24fps

    >promotion for your magazine, incorporate your Nameplate into the design.

    > incorporate sound, 15 seconds

 

1st promotion

    > stage size is 320 x 480 px(iPhone), frame rate is 24fps, 30 seconds

    > no images can be used but the Truman Logo must be incorporated

    > no more than 2 different graphic elements can be used(you can repeat)

    > this promotion is for Truman State University, you must use the slogan

       "Don't follow, Pursue" in promotion

 

2st Promotion

    > stage size is 1024 x 768px(iPad/Web), frame rate is 24fps, 30 seconds

    > no more than 3 different graphic elements can be used(you can repeat)

    > promotion (of a movie, event,show, ect..)/story is what will be created
