Dallas Spring BanquetApril 28, 2014
Something useful to consider when planning an event is not only location of the event, but the space you’re working with. It helped that the location of the Banquet was pretty central for the Dallas area. The banquet room was a good size and fit around 20 people perfectly so we didn’t feel too crowded, or like a small group in a huge space.
Giving people enough advance notice is important. We learned to get our invitations out sooner than two weeks before the event so we can have better attendance, although there was still a pretty good turnout! It’s a nice gesture to send out personal emails in addition to the one sent out by the Alumni Association. Even if people had prior commitments, we still heard back from quite a few. It was nice knowing our efforts were not being ignored.
